Losing Mum and Dad to Covid
It started with a cough. A cough that soon turned into a fever, body aches, and difficulty breathing. And then the dreaded news came – Mum and Dad had tested positive for Covid-19.
We tried to stay positive, hoping that they would recover quickly. But the virus had other plans. Their conditions deteriorated rapidly, and soon they had to be hospitalized.
Days turned into weeks, spent waiting by the phone for updates from the doctors. The uncertainty and fear were overwhelming, as we grappled with the possibility of losing both of them.
And then, the news we had been dreading – Mum passed away first, followed closely by Dad. The void left by their absence was unimaginable, a pain that cut deep into our souls.
We tried to find solace in memories of happy times spent together, but the grief was all-consuming. The world felt emptier without their laughter, their love, their presence.
We mourned them in isolation, unable to gather with loved ones to say our final goodbyes. The empty chairs at family gatherings served as constant reminders of the loss we had endured.
We tried to find ways to honor their memory, to keep their spirits alive in our hearts. But the pain of losing Mum and Dad to Covid-19 will forever be etched in our minds.
As we navigate life without them, we hold on to the hope that one day, the world will be free from this virus. That no other family will have to endure the pain of losing their loved ones to Covid-19.
